The fact that I can walk into a place that I don't know, and be surrounded by ppl that genuinely have your best interest at heart is like a home away from home. I would just like to thank ALL of the wonderful and amazing staff, counselors, therapists, psychiatrists, and facilitators🙏🏼 Scotty, Shane, Tyler, Taylor, Bob, Melissa, Ruby, Kai, and the many others that I’m so sorry I have forgotten yours names🥺But each and everyone you have helped me through and supported me through this journey of recovery and have become my family while I’ve been here in California and so far away from mine! I had a great time in Bob Dores group he taught me a lot of valuable information about the brain and how it’s affected by years of drug use. I learned about a new term called anhedonia which is the inability to feel pleasure for a certain amount of time after quitting the drugs. It felt good to learn that it just takes time to be able to feel pleasure without drugs. The group gave me a lot of hope for the future and I always learn something new and interesting in Bobs groups. And that only scratches the surface of all the amazing groups we have here at monarch.
